A fresh lemon handles stubborn hard-water buildup on a faucet better than most store-bought cleaners.

Remove Hard-Water Buildup With a Lemon

Cutting a lemon in half, gently opening up the center with a thumb, then pressing it onto the end of the faucet and securing it with a small plastic bag and a tightly cinched rubber band lets the citric acid work for a few hours. A gentle scrub afterward clears away any loosened buildup.

Clean the Kitchen as You Cook

Taking a few minutes to wipe spills off counters, rinse pans, and put ingredients away while a dish is cooking, rather than saving it all for after, makes the whole process feel far less overwhelming and leaves little to clean once the meal is ready to eat.
