Eucalyptus oil is highly flammable and contains compounds that are natural disinfectants and pest deterrents, which makes it useful around the home as a replacement for many environmentally harsh synthetic chemicals.

All-Purpose Surface Cleaner

Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid and a capful of 100 percent eucalyptus oil to a spray bottle full of water for an excellent all-purpose surface cleaner.

Laundry Freshener

Add 1-2 teaspoons of eucalyptus oil to a load of washing for a fresh scent along with anti-microbial benefits.

Plant Bug Repellent

Mix half a teaspoon of eucalyptus oil with half a quart of water for a good bug repellent for plants.

Room Air Freshener

Mix a quarter teaspoon (about 15 drops) of eucalyptus oil with a teaspoon of vodka and 2 cups of water in a spray bottle to use as a room air freshener.

Stain Remover

Use the oil straight to remove paint, grease, and ink from clothes.
