Spooky Fun Awaits! Try These Halloween Games Everyone Will Love

From the Genius House Hacks archive.

Halloween party game setup

Halloween isn't just about costumes and candy, it's also the perfect excuse to gather your favorite people for some lighthearted fun. Here are a few games to make any celebration unforgettable.

1. Mummy Wrap Challenge

Grab a few rolls of toilet paper and split into teams. Each team picks one "mummy" and races to wrap them from head to toe without breaking the paper. Take a group photo of the finished mummy masterpieces.

2. Pumpkin Bowling

Use a mini pumpkin with its stem removed and some plastic bottles filled halfway with water to keep them steady. Line them up like bowling pins and see who can knock down the most.

3. Witch Hat Ring Toss

Set paper witch hats at different distances, each worth different points, and toss glow-in-the-dark rings to land on the tips. Dim the lights and add spooky music for extra atmosphere.

4. Apple Bobbing (or Its Cleaner Cousin)

Skip the splashes by tying apples to strings and hanging them from a branch or ceiling. Players grab them with their teeth, no hands allowed, for a fun photo opportunity.

5. Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Hide small prizes or spooky objects around the yard and create clues leading from one spot to the next. Keep it simple for kids or sneakier for adults; a blacklight version in the dark takes it up a notch.

6. Ghost Bowling

Wrap white tissue around plastic bottles, draw ghostly faces with a marker, and bowl them over with a small ball or pumpkin. It doubles as decoration when you're done.

7. "Guess the Gross Stuff" Mystery Box

Place items like cold spaghetti (brains), peeled grapes (eyeballs), or wet sponges (tongues) inside covered boxes for players to guess by touch alone.

Add prizes or candy rewards and a themed playlist, and let the fun begin.
